Vanessa and Tobi were married last month in Wichita on a beautiful fall day. October weddings are just fantastic!

Tobi is a pitcher and has done some time in the pros; since Mike is a 'seamhead' (baseball enthusiast for us non-'seamheads'), he grabbed an old baseball for some portraits. And even snuck in a quick game of catch with Tobi.

Vanessa, you're just too beautiful for words!

Those are her grandfathers on her bouquet. Such a special touch!

Who doesn't love a classic car in the mix on a wedding day?

We managed to grab a few romantic portraits before heading into the reception at the Marriott.

And a few more spontaneous photos, as well. :)

Baseball wasn't exactly the wedding theme, but it was a thread running throughout, including a few favorite treats during cocktail hour.

Tobi's dad, Neal, was his best man. It was extremely special to see that, plus made for some awesome wedding toasts. :)

Who doesn't love live music for the first dance? Especially when sung by one of the groomsmen.

The reception was one GIANT party, including a rendition of "The Devil Went Down to Georgia" (below left), followed by Vanessa's family singing their own lyrics to that song (below right).

{Wichita Senior Photography} Eli

While Eli is a senior at Iola High School, his family recently moved to the Wichita area, so we met up in Wichita for his senior portraits. He's finishing out his senior year in Iola, but spending some time in Wichita with his family. Talk about a unique situation!

These ties are new this year; the fellas wear them on gamedays. I kind of dig them.

The required 'dude' shots. ;) We even managed to get a smiling one for mom. (I learned during my newspaper days that football dudes aren't into smiling in photos).

A few weeks ago, I met up with Brian, Julie and their three kids for some casual family portraits here in Salina.

{Wichita Family Photography} Sean + Ericka's Family

It's been such a joy and pleasure to photograph Sean + Ericka's family year after year. :) Once again, we were out on one of the windiest days EVER! Yet all went way better than we could have hoped for.

I don't remember the punchline, but Audrey is a pretty funny little lady.

Sweet.Family.

Gosh, I just love this father/son image. So.beautiful.

Aaaaaand, kids will be kids.

{Wichita Baby Photography} Baby Cash

Ahhh, this is our fabulous graphic designer, Amy. I spent some time with her family a few weeks back to welcome their first son, Cash. He's a super-sweet little boy.

Big sis, Lauren, loves all over him, of course. :)

We missed Daddy Matt for the pregnancy portraits, but it was fantastic that he was able to join us for the baby pix.

There was such beautiful window light in the master bedroom ... and I can't get enough of these in beautiful Black & White.

In a perfect world, Baby Cash would've slept through the bulk of our session. Cash, however, had other plans. So we just went with it. 

See? So close to sleeping, but not quite. 

All baby toes are insanely kissable.

{Salina Senior Photography} Calloway

Even though Calloway is a senior at Buhler, she opted to come to Salina for her senior portraits. Am I glad she did! She wanted a touch of the old for her portraits, so she brought along one of her grandfather's old bikes. Worked like a charm!

From our first meeting, she'd mentioned wanting to find a tree with a swing. Luckily, I knew the perfect spot!

Simply beautiful!

Grandpa's bike was a sensational prop!

So relaxed and easy in front of the camera.

It's not exactly my 'style' to get crazy with actions, but this scene just screamed at me ... I had to throw a dash of vintage into the processing of these photos.

Calloway's grandma insisted she wanted a photo of her in a homecoming dress ... with the red caboose, it was perfection.
