{Wichita Wedding Photography} Vintage Carnival Wedding Shoot at the Wichita Bridal Expo

I was honored when Alli from Jubilations asked me this fall to be part of the Bridal Showcase at the Wichita Bridal Expo. The showcase is a big, living inspirational wedding setup. In fact, this year the ante was even upped by having a bride/groom and some festive dancing, too!

Heartland Photography was asked to photograph the Vintage Carnival-themed event. It was something to see! Here's a rundown of the vendors who made this amazing setup possible:

Accent Mobile Music / sound, music, lighting
Corporate Caterers of Wichita / nacho cheese fountain, food
Westside Flowers by DeOrsey / florals
Classically Covered / Linens
Henry Helgerson's / chairs, tables & tent poles
Ruffles & Rust - A Vintage Rental Company / pews, decor, China plates
Xclusive Events / Bartending services and yummie drinks!
Cake Affairs / cake, cake pops
Sweet Ride Soft Serve / ice cream sundae bar
The Sunflower Photo Booth Co / Photobooth
Care to Dance / coreography
The White Dress / Bride's attire
Men's Warehouse / Groom's attire

Phew! What a big list. But we didn't want to leave anyone off. Now, on to the visual treats! :)

I was asked about these pews a LOT - they are from Ruffles & Rust.

I cannot repeat enough how AMAZING their drinks are! Give Xclusive a call!

The entire popcorn setup? That was Xclusive.

As with any of our weddings, I want a few portraits of the bride or the couple. Managed to snag some of each.

Saved the best/my favorite portrait for last! A simple parasol from the table decorations really coordinated amazingly with this dress! :)

{Published!} Middle of the Map Weddings Blog

Oh good morning!!!!! It's been a bit of a chaotic week (more on that in a future post). So busy, in fact, that I forgot that our Vintage Drive-In Shoot was scheduled to be published on a wedding planning/inspiration blog. Yesterday.

How could I FORGET something like that, you ask? Well, if I were being extremely honest, I'd admit I forgot to feed the dog breakfast, too. It was just that kind of day (don't worry I HAVE remembered to feed the dog breakfast this morning! She isn't going hungry - today).

Be sure to cruise on over to the POST on Middle of the Map Weddings and check it out. :)

Like old friends ...

One of the most unexpected blessings of being a wedding photojournalist is the people we meet and ultimately get to work with.

You might remember Lori and Derek's engagement preview HERE or their slideshow HERE.

One of the coolest parts about working with Lori is her attention to detail. Check out the awesome wedding invitation that arrived in the mail earlier this week:

With words like "as the crow flies" and "party till the cows come home" on a wedding invitation, I KNOW this is going to be one heck of a fun wedding!

Working with this couple has been so special. I truly consider them friends, so of course they'd send their new photo friends an invitation to their wedding! :) We are honored to be a part of what I know is going to be a very special day.

Oh, and I have to give credit to the designer! Lori worked with uber fabulous graphic designer Andrea Bettinardi to come up with these invites.
