Heather + Jeremy's Family

Over the weekend, I met up with Heather and Jeremy for some family portraits in Salina.

I first photographed energetic Marin in May. As in May, Marin spent much of our session running around. But we managed to get a few quick photos of her sitting (almost) still. ;)

Heather and Jeremy are very sweet .... and have been married for (are you ready for this) EIGHT years. They're pros. :)

A few more beautiful family portraits. Really stunning. Truly.

Cindy + Patrick's Family Portraits

Photographing Cindy and Patrick's family was a high energy-high octane event. With three boys, ages 5, 3 and 1, there was no shortage of energy during our family portraits in Salina!

These guys were constantly moving ... but we found a quiet, in between moment of calm.

Kathy + Wayne's Extended Family

It's been 2 years since we had a wedding in my family, and with the addition of Robin & Chris' sweet baby boy, we wanted to do extended family portraits of my family.

Coordinating 10 people is not particularly an easy task. Especially when your youngest brother lives in Illinois and your brother-in-law is an international pilot. But toward the beginning of October, we were all in the same place at the same time and Mike took some portraits of/for us (THANKS, Mike! You're the best!!!!!).

This photo is going to be a stellar 36x48-inch canvas gallery wrap above my parents' fire place, and I'm dancing with excitement to see it on the wall. :)

Bria + Adam's Family, 2010

Oh yeeeeeeeah. Bria and Adam's family are simply sublime.

I found this location for their family portraits in Salina on accident ... but knew I had to save it for Bria. And boy .... was it the right decision!

I love it when a family comes back year after year for portraits ... it's a real compliment to our work.

This trio is a little feisty.

Big sis Alexa showed her younger siblings how it's done.

Mason did MUCH better this year than last year. Of course, it was much warmer this year. :)

Helllllloooo, baby blues!

Elle seems to have something up her sleeve ... ya think?

Hello. Married 10 years. Awesome, right?!!?!??!?!???

Katie + Alex's family session

Recently, I met up with Katie and Alex and their 4-year-old son, Kyle, for a fun family session. I agreed to meet them by the Hyatt hotel in downtown Wichita, which holds a special place in their hearts. This photo was taken near the spot where Alex proposed to Katie.

In the beginning, I sensed Alex having a hard time relaxing in front of the camera. Clearly, he has no problem relaxing in front of his wife! I think they're as in love now as they day the married. :)

Mostly, we photographed Kyle. Did I mention that he just turned four? He's everything a 4-year-old boy ought to be: full of engery, very silly, and adorably cute!

After we goofed around by the river, we went to Riverside Park to play on the slides and in a big pile of leaves. The next day Katie told me that our photo shoot is all Kyle could talk about for the rest of the day. Katie, thanks for asking me to photograph your family! I had as much fun as Kyle! -Mike

2010 Holiday Cards, Ordering Deadline

I know it's the beginning of November, but it's time to think about Holiday/Christmas cards and gifts.

Let's start off with the cards. They're custom-designed by our graphic designer, Amy. They are completely one-of-a-kind and fabulout!

They are 5x7, with printing on both sides. They are sold in sets of 24 and come with an envelope.

If you had a session (engagement/wedding/portrait) with online proofing this year, your gallery will be back online HERE.

The galleries will be online through Nov. 30. If you would like one of our holiday cards, or any additional prints or products in time for Christmas, YOUR ORDER MUST BE PLACED BY NOV. 30. Orders placed on or after Dec. 1 will not be guaranteed for delivery prior to Christmas.

One exception to the Nov. 30 ordering deadline is our albums. If you are proofing your album, you must have final approval to us by Nov. 5 in order for your album to arrive prior to Christmas.

OK, with all of that out of the way, let's move on to the eye candy of our Christmas cards! :)

Rachel + Jarrod's Wedding Album is IN! :)

Another stunning album in! This time it was Rachel and Jarrod.

Generally, we stay away from black for wedding albums (I can only think of one other), but if we do so, it's for a purpose.

Rachel and Jarrod are a bit rock 'n' roll, and Amy asked me if she could "get a little creative" with their album design. I told her to go to town, and she delivered! These fun swirls tie in with their invites.

Hot pink and black look ... well ... hot together.

This little graphical element is fun. Especially since their last name starts with an "M" ... just a fun little detail. :)
