{Announcements} Quarterly Newsletter

Welcome to wedding season! Things are slammin' busy around here, but I wanted to drop a quick note to let you know we'll be sending out our quarterly email newsletter TOMORROW (July 3).

I started the newsletter in 2011 with the intention of making it quarterly. Except for last year, I've been pretty good about it.

What's IN these newsletters, you might ask? A variety of things.

It's hard to believe, but I do exercise some restraint and don't post every single cute photograph of my little boy around here. Instead, I share a few in the newsletter (example below).

Also, I'll include info on what we have going on, events coming up, or other helpful tips. Tomorrow's tip is on Pregnancy Portraits. You won't want to miss them, so if you're not on our email list, be sure to sign up below!!!!

***I feel compelled to tell you I promise to not send lots of spamity-spam via email. I am annoyed by/when others do that, and really try to keep these communications to 4 times/year.

{Products} Alicia + Nick's Album

Alicia + Nick's wedding album is so fabulous. Well, it's actually doubly fabulous because there's an 8x8 parent album with it! The exact duplicate is sensational!

You can see on the bottom left, the 10x10 couple album (back) and 8x8 parent album (front). So fabulous!

{Anniversary} Morgan + Jacob

We will always remember the toast Morgan's dad made to Morgan and Jacob on their wedding day. It was so beautiful - just like this amazing couple! Happy Anniversary!

{Photojournalism} Permanent Diaconate Ordination, Diocese of Salina

Over the weekend, I returned a bit to my roots: photojournalism. I spent Saturday photographing the ordination of permanent deacons for the Diocese of Salina. There were 10 who were ordained. In my years of photographing for the diocese, I've never seen so many at one time.

The difference between these and other deacons is that these guys are (usually) older and also married. Hence, photographing the wedding ring visible with the row of albed men.

Salina has six others who were ordained permanent deacons a few years ago. The new deacons were welcomed warmly by the others.

These deacons simply assist at Mass and with other tasks as assigned by the Bishop.

It's incredible to think that the last time I was photographing at Sacred Heart Cathedral in Salina that I was a very pregnant 9 months at Bishop Weisenburger's ordination. Absent the big belly full of baby, it was SO much easier to maneuver around and photograph!

{Products} Jaime + Cory's Wedding Album

It's always fun to turn our graphic designer loose with our art to put her own interpretation on it. The graphic on the cover was inspired by Jaime's bouquet. Fun times!

Lovely design.

{Salina Engagement Portraits} Sarah + Ryan

Over the weekend, Sarah + Ryan came to Salina for some engagement portraits. It's always fun to meet a couple in person after communicating via phone, email and texts for several months. These high school sweethearts are just so comfortable and natural with one another ... which makes my job a snap! We can hardly wait for their wedding at the end of the summer!

(Didn't Sarah do an AMAZING job of coordinating their outfits? I just love it!).

{Anniversary} Megan + Paul

It's hard to believe that Megan and Paul were married an entire year ago! Has it REALLY been a whole year? Regardless, happy anniversary, you two!
