{Salina Engagement Photography} Alicia + Nick

With busy and varied schedules, it's not an easy task to get Alicia and Nick in one place, but we managed to carve out some time this weekend for engagement portraits in Salina.

I've had my eye on these school busses for quite some time. I knew the right people would come along to use these for some portraits. Here's Alicia's story of how he proposed:

"Nick, a fourth grade teacher, asked me to come visit his classroom, as I had done so previously the year before. He asked if I would say a few words to his students about their Reading Progam and why it is so important. I said yes and that I didn't mind given his studnets a little pep talk with some helpful treats.

"When I arrived to his classroom he told me he couldn't believe I was so cool about speaking in front of everyone (meaning a gymnasium full of 400+ students and faculty). I told him I had no clue it was in front of that many people and wasn't feeling as cool about it as I was a few minutes before (in other words, I was freaking OUT). While Nick started to hand his reading awards out to his students in the gym, I was sitting in the back stressing out about what I wanted to say and waiting for him to call me up.

"When I walked up to give my big "speech", Nick said that he had a question that he wanted his students to help him out with. His students then turned their reading awards around which spelled out "Will You Marry Me, Alicia?" "

Seriously - how cute is this proposal? :)

We sort of joked around that he must have been pretty sure she'd say yes, because Alicia couldn't just say NO in front of his class and ENTIRE school.

One of their first dates in Salina was at the Scheme, so we stopped by for a few quick photos. The decor is seriously one-of-a-kind. If you're from out of town and find yourself in Salina on a Thursday thru Saturday night, call, get a reservation and go.

It seems like July is just around the corner, and we can hardly wait for your wedding, Alicia and Nick!
