{Dodge City Wedding Photography} Serena + Luke's wedding slideshow

Serena + Luke exit their reception at Grace Community Church in Dodge City to a shower of popcorn. I love this photograph because they're wearing the same smiles they'd had on all day long! Serena + Luke, we hope you enjoy this photo and all the rest just as much as we enjoyed being at your wedding. CLICK HERE to see a slideshow of our favorite images. - Mike

{Dodge City Wedding Photography} Serena + Luke's wedding preview

Serena + Luke were married two weeks ago in an evening ceremony at Grace Community Church in Dodge City. They agreed to see each other before the event which allowed us to spend some time together in Chilton Park.

Serena met Luke through Luke's sister, Joanna, who served as her maid of honor.

Serena planned so many elegant and thoughtful details into her wedding day, including the initial of her new last name on the back of her shoes.

These two are so comfortable with each other. It's hard to remember a couple with better chemistry!

Serena is escorted down the aisle by her father, Quincy ...

... and then escorted back down the aisle by her husband, Luke.

More elegant details! This isn't your odinary wedding cake topper. This details was included throughout their wedding, from the invitations to their guest book. Serena's eye for detail made this wedding visually seamless.

Following the ceremony, we spent a few minutes making some more romantic portraits (more on that later!), after which we headed back to the church's fellowship hall for a reception. Instead of having a dance, the couple spent a couple of hours going table to table thanking their closest friends and family for attending their wedding.

Serena + Luke, thank you for inviting us to be a part of your special day! We had a great time and made some wonderful images. Check back next week to see a slideshow with more of our favorites! -Mike

Bridal Show in Dodge City

Sunday certainly started off cold and blustery, but it turned into a glorious day for a bridal show.

A huge thanks to all of the brides who stopped by to say hi.

Perhaps my favorite part of this show was all of the "mother of the bride/groom" and "grandmother of the bride" buttons I saw. With daughters and sons off at college, moms and grandmas hit the show to get the scoop on wedding planning.

A closeup of the images in our booth.

And a quick shot of the variety of albums offered .... from a photo front to leather to a sweet metal cover, the sky truly IS the limit in wedding albums nowadays!

Last photo is Stanley Cordova (from Sieber's Palace Salon in Liberal) sharing his wealth of knowledge with brides about hairstyles.

Oh, and all of the dresses for the fashion shows were provided by Cupid's Corner in Hays.

If you missed the show, no worries. We still have one more this month (and admission is F-R-E-E!!!!!).

Sunday, January 25, 2009 — Salina
Masonic Temple, 336 S. Santa Fe Ave.
11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Shauna and James' Slideshow

Before I show off Shauna and James' awesome slideshow, I want to share a little story behind this photo (it's the photojournalist in me — I just can't get away from a good story!)

This bronze statue of Wyatt Earp was made by Shauna's grandmother, Mary Spurgeon. So, of course, she wanted to take a few photographs with the statue!

The Sunday I photographed Shauna and James in Dodge City was windy, as you'll see in the slideshow. They were such troopers and we had a blast at Boot Hill.

Thanks guys! We're so excited for your June wedding!

Enjoy the slideshow!

Shauna and James' engagement session

Wedding season is here!!!!!

Ok, so this is a post about engagement photos, why am I talking about wedding season? That's because we include an engagement session in EVERY one of our packages. They give us a chance to get to know our couples better before the wedding.

Sunday was an awesome opportunity to hang out with Shauna and James in Dodge City.

Shauna is seriously the most excited bride I've ever met! Since she booked with us, she's been signing all of her e-mails "the future Mrs. LaPish," which I think is adorable. She's also included me on her email list so I get updates on the flowers and wedding details. I LOVE being a part of the wedding planning process!

I'll close with one last photo I think shows a little of this cute couple's personality. I simply adore the way Shauna is looking up and how James is about to kiss her. *swoon*

The slideshow should be up soon, so be sure to check back!
