{Products} Deanne + Carlos' Wedding Album

Ooooh, another stunning wedding album is in! Today I'm sharing Deanne + Carlos' wedding album. As you can see, they chose to use two black leathers, with a patterned damask on the spine. It's such a classy choice (and I think it'll be very timeless, too!).

Their names are in silver, and it looks fantastic.

Those stunning graphics from their invites and engagement guest book are in the wedding album, too!

Just love them!

Next, I'm going to share several album spreads. I don't always share a lot of spreads, but Carlos' family is in Brazil and is anxious to see their awesome album ... so I figured we'd show them some here. :) (More of the album design is HERE; we might have made a few tweaks, but it's close to the final design).

{Anniversary} Deanne + Carlos

One year ago today, Mike and I had the honor of photographing Deanne + Carlos' wedding. Carlos' family is Brazil, and even with a slight language gap, we had a blast photographing them all day. They had one heck of a fun reception at the Old Cowtown Museum ... the crowd was full of fun! To relive the memories, you may CLICK HERE to see our favorite photos of the day.

***Editor's note: you'll notice the absence of our green "H" stamp. We're toying with some possible changes/updates for how we tag our blog photos, so please be patient as we try some options. If you see something you like, or even don't like, please feel free to leave a comment!

{Wedding Album Design} Deanne + Carlos

Aaaaah, wedding season is in the air!

Today's serving: Deanne + Carlos' wedding album design.

Our designer used some of the graphical elements from their engagement album design on a few of the pages. The same graphic was on their invitation, so it gives nice visual continuity.

Too beautiful!

We're tweaking with the album cover/font/names, so once that gets nailed down, I'll addd the slideshow of the design here. Stay tuned! :)

Deanne + Carlos' wedding slideshow

A couple of weeks ago I posted some very special moments from Deanne + Carlos' wedding. Deanne was smiling all day, and with such loving friends and family surrounding she and Carlos as they committed to spend their lives together, who could blame her?

About a dozen of Carlos' friends and family traveled to Wichita from Brazil to celebrate the nuptials. Seeing the two cultures meld together for the wedding was truly spectacular.

Deanne and Carlos, thanks again for asking us to be a part of your special day! Please CLICK HERE to see your slideshow!

Sneak Peek - Deanne + Carlos' wedding moments

Even though I consider myself to be a compositional photographer, if you asked me to name the single most important element in a successful photograph, I'd say "the moment" without hesitation. And there were no shortage of moments at Deanne and Carlos' wedding at the Church of the Magdalen - and reception at the Old Cowtown Museum - on Saturday. Like this one of Deanne and Carlos spending a quite moment together at the church following the ceremony.

Or this one, of Carlos greeting his bride at the altar with a kiss on her hand.

Or this one, of Carlos' uncle, Ivan, singing a congratulatory song (in Portugese, no less) on the trolley ride to the reception. About 20 members of Carlos' family traveled from Brazil for the wedding. Fortunately, photography is a universal language. :)

Or this one, of the anticipation of a kiss.

Or this one, as the groom dips his bride at the site of her great grandfather's barber shop. Indeed, a part of Deanne's family history is on display at Cowtown.

Or this one, of Deanne's father, Lance, as they share a dance together. During his touching speech, he said he was as proud as a father could be.

Or this one, of Cooper, left, and Pedro, right, both cousins of the couple, jammin' out on their Air Vuvuzelas at the reception, which was about as hot as the weather! Stay tuned for a slide show full of other moments from Deanne and Carlos' wedding. -Mike

Deanne + Carlos' Engagement Album is IN!!!

With Deanne and Carlos' wedding coming up this weekend, I realized I have yet to share photos of their printed engagement album.

Gotta love the thick pages!

And the sturdy binding.

And the stunning design.

And plenty of room for guests to sign.

And Deanne's awesome graphic elements (we pulled these from her invitations/save the dates!).

We also used the same fonts from their invitations, to give the wedding a more cohesive look.

A few more photos of the back, because I dig it so much!

And our logo of approval ... looks good in purple and white, right? (Can you tell both Mike and I are K-State alums?).

Can't wait for this weekend's wedding!

Deanne + Carlos' Engagement Album Design

Let's start with the cover of Deanne and Carlos' engagement album. Our regular readers will think "Hey, where's the clean white back cover?" and they'd be right.

Deanne custom-designed her wedding invites, and shared the high resolution files with us. Which, in turn, allows us to use the really beautiful design elements in and on her album. I really love it when our couples have unique graphic elements that we can tie in to their engagement cards and event cards ... it makes the look of their wedding so much more cohesive! Deanne even told us which fonts she used, so we pulled them in, too. :)

An inside spread.

I love working with out ultra-fabulous designer, Amy, because she'll do things I'd never have considered. Take the above spread. She cut the photo right down the middle and split it on either edge of the page. Shocking, but it works so well! And leaves plenty of room for their guests to sign the book!

Feel free to CLICK HERE to see their entire engagement album design!

Deanne + Carlos' Engagement Slideshow

Time has completely flown since I took Deanne and Carlos' engagement photos in Georgetown!

The one thing that stood out to me as I was working on their slideshow was how the bulk of the photos are of JUST them. Despite the crowds that were around Georgetown, we were able to find some private spots and take some beautiful photos of *just* the two of them. Sort of feels as if there's no one else in the world .... which is how I think a lot of engaged couples feel. ;)

Thanks for a wonderful evening in Georgetown, Deanne and Carlos! Please CLICK HERE to view your engagement slideshow!

Sneak Peek — Deanne + Carlos' Engagement Session

Dear Deanne and Carlos,

You two are too fabulous for words.

Seriously.

Love, Karen

ps-Ok, ok, ok. More photos from their FABULOUS Georgetown engagement session coming along in the next week. Just a few teasers for now! If you're not already a Facebook Fan of Heartland Photography, be sure to become one ... because if I do any more editing on the road, I'll probably add more teasers there.
