Before I show off Shauna and James' awesome slideshow, I want to share a little story behind this photo (it's the photojournalist in me — I just can't get away from a good story!)

This bronze statue of Wyatt Earp was made by Shauna's grandmother, Mary Spurgeon. So, of course, she wanted to take a few photographs with the statue!

The Sunday I photographed Shauna and James in Dodge City was windy, as you'll see in the slideshow. They were such troopers and we had a blast at Boot Hill.

Shauna and James' engagement session

Wedding season is here!!!!!

Ok, so this is a post about engagement photos, why am I talking about wedding season? That's because we include an engagement session in EVERY one of our packages. They give us a chance to get to know our couples better before the wedding.

Sunday was an awesome opportunity to hang out with Shauna and James in Dodge City.


Shauna is seriously the most excited bride I've ever met! Since she booked with us, she's been signing all of her e-mails "the future Mrs. LaPish," which I think is adorable. She's also included me on her email list so I get updates on the flowers and wedding details. I LOVE being a part of the wedding planning process!

I'll close with one last photo I think shows a little of this cute couple's personality. I simply adore the way Shauna is looking up and how James is about to kiss her. *swoon*

A few remaining 2008 dates

Lately, Karen and I have been receiving a few inquiries for this summer. While most of our summer is already booked we still do have a few remaining open dates. If you've been thinking about calling, now is the time!

And, if you're starting to plan a big bash in 2009, it's never too early to call! We've been getting inquiries for 2009 and will accept only a certain number of wedding commissions. They are on a first-come, first-served basis, so don't delay!

Some clients have asked if we will travel for their wedding, and of course the answer is yes. We travel around the state of Kansas, as well as the country to document weddings.

Keepin' It Fresh!

As Karen and I gear up for the upcoming wedding season, which includes several events in and around Wichita and one as far away as California, we decided to continue our visual education in an effort to bring our clients the best possible service.

We enrolled for the Keepin' it Fresh Workshop, which is making a stop in Wichita, in May. We're extremely excited that the renowned Mike Colon will be the speaker.

To prepare for the workshop, we submitted some biographical information, along with some photos. Karen is the first attendee with information on the blog. Feel free to check it out at the Keepin' it Fresh blog!

Robin + Chris' Signature Print

I can't say enough good things about Robin and Chris' wedding from a few weeks back. They are simply an amazing couple! Their Signature Print arrived from the lab this past week and it looked fantastic. I just had to make a frame before I wrapped it up. The best part? We normally ship Signature Prints to our clients but Robin just happened to be back in town for the weekend so I had the opportunity to make a special delivery. She loved it and I bet Chris will, too!

If you think you've seen everything...

What do you get for the couple that has everything? Um .... I"m not sure if this is the perfect gift solution, but I guffawed when I saw it! Simply Google "Bride and Groom toilet paper" and you'll have more options than you EVER thought possible!

Flourish was FABULOUS!!!!!!

Here are a few photographs from our studio sessins from Flourish workshop. This is the amazing Leah. She is a regular girl off the street who came in and modeled an AMAZING Palmoa Blanca gown. WOW! Check these gowns OUT!


This is Erica. She was so sweet and we spent a lot of our time laughing. She was stunning in a Ramona Keveza bridal gown that I have to admit I've been lusting after for my OWN wedding!

The gowns were all on loan from Bluegrass Bride. The girls' STUNNING makeup was done by Ana Ana Crane-Simpson and Rodney Farmer was the hair stylist. A BIG thank you to all of the behind the scenes staff!
