{Goodland Wedding Photography} Jillian + Drew's wedding slideshow

I still can't get over what a great time I had covering Jillian + Drew's wedding two weeks ago in Goodland! Their families were so warm and inviting and the reception was one of the more lively ones we've seen with both a great playlist and great dance moves. Jillian + Drew, thanks for your wonderful hospitality and for inviting us to document your special day! Please click here to view your wedding day slideshow. -Mike

{Goodland/Colby Wedding Photography} Jillian + Drew's wedding preview

Over the weekend, Jillian + Drew were married at Our Lady of Perpetual Help in Goodland, with a smashing reception in Colby. With Jillian's musical ties, the staircase up to the choir loft seemed an appropriate place for a few portraits of our couple.

Jillian + Drew opted for a "First Look" which is a private moment with the bride and groom, where they see one another for the first time. This allows for a special moment for the couple, but also for us to take group portraits before the ceremony so everyone can get to the party. :)

Moments before Jillian was escorted by her father down the aisle, her mother, Geralyn, came back for a few quiet moments with her only daughter and youngest child. This is such a beautiful moment; probably one of my all-time favorite wedding moments I've captured.

For our regular blog readers who think Jillian and her mom look a little familiar, you'd be right! I first met the Parker family when I photographed her brother, Nick's, diaconate ordination in Goodland. I later saw the family again when Fr. Nick was ordained a priest and at his First Mass (blog links HERE and HERE). Fr. Nick has been a friend of mine for a decade. It has been an honor to document his major life events, and it was a double honor for the family to invite Mike and I to Goodland for Jillian's marriage to Drew.

I just adore father/daughter moments. The trip down the aisle is such a special one.

Their departure from church was pretty memorable; Jillian's cathedral-length veil stuck a few times to the stone staircase, holding up the process a bit. But it certainly provided a good chuckle for everyone. :)

During Jillian + Drew's engagement session (blog links HERE and HERE), their chemistry was evident. These two did not disappoint for their wedding. :)

Just.too.adorable.

Western Kansas gets a reputation for being a windy place. Let me just say that our experience begs to differ. With Jillian's cathedral-lentgh veil, we wanted to show some drama. This spiral staircase seemed like a good location. Of course, there was ONE ... repeat ONE ... gust of wind to really catch it and show it off. Of course it made for a stunning photograph!

Jillian + Drew, thank you for trusting us so completely with your wedding photography. Your wedding was such a pleasure to photograph. It was also a treat for both Mike and I. While I've been to Goodland several times, Mike was stunned at the warmth, friendliness and hospitality of not only you and your families, but the entire community.

On the way home, Mike said "I had a good time in Goodland."

I responded "I never thought I'd hear you say that, Mike."

"Neither did I," he said. "Neither did I."

Enjoy your honeymoon; we'll see you soon!

Sneak Peek — Fr. Richard Daise's First Mass

This weekend has been a whirlwind of activity! I've been doing some freelance for the Register in Salina, and I photographed a double ordination. But I am holding off on sharing photos of that until the paper is out on Thursday, so check back Friday for the actual ordination.

Today, I wanted to share a quick peek at Fr. Richard's First Mass. More photos to follow this week!
