{Salina Senior Portraits} Spencer

I met a few weeks ago with Spencer for his senior portraits in Salina. A baseball, basketball and football player, we wanted to incorporate a little of each sport into his session.

Even though sports is a big part of Spencer's life, we squeezed in a few casual portraits in Downtown Salina, too.

It was an overcast day & even though the sky was gray, I knew once we got onto the baseball field and added some light, the sky would really become dramatic.

Final fave from the session!

{Salina KS Corporate Photography} Saint Francis Community Services

Two weeks ago, I had the joy of photographing a special event for Saint Francis Community Services in Salina. As an avid reader, I was excited to photograph an event centered around the new book written by John Danforth, former U.S. Senator from Missouri and Ambassador to the United Nations, as well as an ordained Episcopal priest.

The first portion of the evening included a private cocktail party.

Familiar faces at the private gathering included the likes of Nancy Kassebaum, former U.S. Senator from Kansas.

Episcopal Bishop Wolfe also attended with his wife.

The public event was hosted at the Salina Community Theatre. The lobby was an excellent location for the speech and book signing.

I know ... I'm showing you a lot of these in B&W ... I'm just such a fan of how classic and timeless B&W photography is ... especially for political or religious-related events!

{Salina Senior Portraits} Xan, Class of 2016

I met Miss Xan when photographing at the Salina Community Theatre. She is one talented young lady! We met up in central Salina for Xan's senior portraits. Xan brought a ton of energy and life to her session, which is always fun.

I love it when seniors have a fun location request for their senior portraits. Xan wanted to use a small, independent used bookstore. Of course, being the literary geek I am, I jumped at the chance for the unique location for senior portraits! I love how whimsical and fun they turned out!

Xan is a theatre girl through and through. She was very excited to take some of her portraits in the dressing room, with the lights & mirrors.

I love how diverse this session was. Some photos are innocent, others like this have a little sass in them ... capturing the multiple sides of a senior during their portrait session is something I enjoy so much!

Balancing on this chair only LOOKS easy. This girl, as a dancer, rocked it.

Last photo to share: A fun on-stage pic. Xan, thanks for such a fun time during your senior portrait session!!!!

{Wichita Family Portraits} Amy + Matt's Family

Ahhhh, Amy & Matt's family ... I love our annual fall portrait session in Wichita. With 4 kiddos, sessions can be tricky, but Amy told me "I just want ONE PICTURE for our Christmas card." ... I think we got it, mama! I know how tricky 3-year-olds can be, but we managed one moment of calm! :)

The outtakes from this session are so classic - if I get permission, I'll be sure to share, because they're a scream!

{Salina Senior Portraits} Ale, Class of 2016

LOVE these portraits from our session with Miss Ale! This amazing dress in a sunflower field - ah-maaaaaazing! We met up a few weeks ago for Ale's senior portraits in and around Salina.

What beautiful eyes!

Since Ale is a horsewoman, of course her senior portrait session included equine companions.

Thanks for choosing us for your senior portraits, Ale! We're so excited to share your album proof in the upcoming weeks!

{Wichita Family Portraits} Kim + Tim's Family

Our regular blog readers might recognize Kim & Tim from their engagement photos (see pics HERE). These two got married up north, but wanted engagement pictures in Wichita. Now that they've been married a few years and started a family, they wanted to update things with Family Fall Pictures in Wichita. Add in that I've been watching their adorable son's first year via social media, it was easy to say YES! :)

What's not to love about this little boy?

Of course, puppies are part of the family, too.

One of my faves!

Father/son time is always so precious.

My heart melts for Mommy & Me pictures. :)

What a handsome little guy!!!

{Photojournalsim} 2nd Annual Solomon Sunflower Yoga

For the 2nd year, a group gathered on Labor Day to practice yoga. This was the second time Mark Pettijohn opened his family's farm up to the group ... and more than 50 attended! Look at this amazing group!

Loved the harpist!

The overcast skies were dramatic & provided much-needed shade to keep it (mostly) cool!

This amazing 94-year-old insisted on joining ... for chair yoga. Amazing!

Just love that this was a family event. :)

The variety of ages present was also inspiring!
